PROFESSIONAL SERVICE

“I pursued Interior Design with a passion to improve quality of life through design. While working in Manhattan on large scale hospitality projects, among others, I experienced vast opportunities to create unique design solutions, worked through the intricacies of the built environment, and applied required standards to insure the protection and safety of the public. I established Kaleidoscope Interior Design with a desire to work within my community and to provide these learned experiences and strategies to the homeowner and business owner. Our aim is to make these standards available to everyone, help navigate complex building processes, and exceed expectations on style and design.” ~ Judi

1

DESIGN CONSULTATION

Our first step in the design process is to learn more about you. This includes a discussion of your style, use of the space, interests, and goals along with a look at the scope of work, timelines, and budget. Listening in detail to your design preferences, the ways in which you use your space, and your parameters helps provide better insight and establishes a direction for the design.

2

PROPOSAL

Should you wish to proceed, a detailed proposal for design services is prepared for your review and approval. The proposal includes a detailed outline of the scope of work and our responsibilities to you. Upon receipt of the signed proposal the design process begins.

3

SITE SURVEY

Images from every angle and detailed measurements are taken of the space or spaces. This is a crucial and imperative early step in ensuring a successful design by providing accurate parameters to work within. In the occasion of new construction, Architect’s drawings are the basis to begin design work and later field measurements are verified and carefully documented before interior elements are applied.

4

PRELIMIARY (SCHEMATIC) DESIGN

Now that the requirements of the project have been gathered, floor plans and furniture layouts are drawn. Elements such as kitchens, bathrooms, and built-in’s include detailed drawings. Mood Boards and physical samples of materials are provided for you to see, feel, and experience. These deliverables help visualize your project and make informed decisions before you buy.

5

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Now it is time to ensure all selections are complete and refine any final details. If custom furniture, lighting, artwork, or finishes are used KI Design coordinates with the selected vendors on shop drawings and samples to ensure a quality product.

6

CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS

Construction documents may include floor plans, furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, and any relevant details required to communicate design intent and provide a valuable set of instructions to the Contractor. This allows the Contractor to have accurate information to bid the project successfully and properly build your design.

7

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Once your project gets underway, regular site visits are made to ensure design intent is met. Updates are provided to you regularly. Throughout all phases of design, KI Design coordinates any pertinent details, instructions, or requirements with your Architect, General Contractor, Landscape Designer, and any other professionals that may be working on your project.

8

PURCHASING & PROCUREMENT

A proposal for all product purchases is prepared for your review and approval. We place the orders for you with each of the selected vendors. Each purchase is precisely reviewed with the vendor and then carefully coordinated and tracked for shipment and delivery.

9

INSTALLATION & PROJECT CLOSEOUT

Today is the big day when all your dreams come true! We will be there every step of the way helping to ensure your installation process goes smoothly and everything looks perfect for the big reveal! And before we say good bye, until next time, a project binder will be provided of the vendor’s care instructions for the products in your new home or business so they will look great for years to come!
